See the future and make history with us
Left: Adam Miller (Founder, Lodging Segment) & Right: Michael Davis (Founder, Gaming Segment)
The Lodging & Gaming Management Association was dreamt of by Adam Miller, one of our co-founders when he was a freshman at Michigan State University. Upon a visit to The School he realized there was a need for a Lodging Ogranization that was not present
eturning from a spring internship in the fall of 2007, Adam approached Michael Davis, our other co-founder asking his thoughts for creating a Hotel Organization. Michael soon realized the importance of having a Hotel & Gaming organization within The School, both innovative and booming careers within the industry.
After months of planning, and developing, progress was being made towards developing an Executive Board. The brand new Executive Board unanimously nominated Mr. Joel Heberlein, the General Manager of the award winning Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center at Michigan State University to be the organization’s advisor. After Mr. Heberlein, accepted his nomination in December, the Executive Board worked hard to create a plan of action, and presented the proposal for what would be formally called the Lodging & Gaming Management Association to the Director of The School of Hospitality Business, Dr. Ronald F. Cichy and the Karin Dowling Administration of the Hospitality Association, the umbrella organization for all student-run organizations, clubs and events at The School.
February 16th, 2008 the Lodging & Gaming Management Association was approved and since then had been planning for the organization’s premier in the Fall of 2008.
